Ventricular reflexes shape ischemia hemodynamics; extends physiological synthesis but leaves open prospective clinical studies.
The investigations on ventricular reflexes have followed two main ways: a) Anatomical and physiological studies, dissecting the nerve fibres and measuring their conduction speed and spike frequency during stimulation of the ventricular receptors, and b) Cardiovascular reflex response measured through several functional parameters such as blood pressure, heart rate, cardiac output and systemic peripheral vascular resistances.
