Introduction and Objective: The ability to disconnect the infusion set for the Tandem t:slim X2 and Mobi insulin pumps with Control-IQ+ technology offers patients freedom and flexibility in their daily lives. We analyzed pump suspension events to determine how quickly glucose levels returned to baseline after a suspension of insulin delivery or disconnection of the infusion set with Control-IQ+ active. Methods: A sample of n=1,089 Control-IQ+ insulin pump users (age 27 [17, 44] years, 62% female, 94% type 1 diabetes) with a total of n=18,543 manual suspension events recorded from January to October 2025 were analyzed. The primary outcome was time for sensor glucose levels to return to within 20 mg/dL of baseline before the suspension began. Baseline sensor glucose had to be ≤150 mg/dL for an event to be included. Any suspension event that included a user-initiated insulin bolus or cartridge change—from one hour prior to one hour after the suspension—was excluded. Results: Median suspension time was 20 [13, 34] minutes, with median baseline sensor glucose of 117 [100-133] mg/dL at the time of suspension. Median time to return to within 20 mg/dL of baseline was 19 [9-64] minutes after resumption of insulin delivery. Conclusion: Temporary suspension of insulin delivery with Control-IQ+ technology, used here as a surrogate for pump disconnection events, was associated with prompt restoration of sensor glucose levels to near baseline values. This likely reflects Control-IQ+ technology’s ability to rapidly and automatically adjust insulin delivery to decrease sensor glucose after suspension. These results indicate that pump disconnection can offer convenience without compromising glycemic control. Disclosure V.S. Lu: Employee; Current; Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc.
