Develops nutritional pattern authentication for bactrian camel viscera, suggesting high accuracy in origin tracing.
The bactrian camel-related products are favored by consumers for their unique flavor and medicinal value, but some unscrupulous traders often disrupt market competition by exaggerating the nutritional value. Hence, there is an urgent to develop a fast and efficient technology for nutritional pattern authentication. Herein, 26 mineral elements in the viscera of bactrian camel from Inner Mongolian were firstly systematically separated and identified to investigate compositional differences using atomic absorption spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass. Then, the fingerprinting of mineral elements in the viscera was modeled by utilizing Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Orthogonal Partial Least Squares-Discriminant Analysis (OPLS-DA) and Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) methods. The results showed that there were obvious clustering differences between the parenchymatous organs (heart, lung, liver, kidney) and digestive organs (rumen, reticulum, abomasum, small intestine, large intestine) in the viscera of bactrian camel from Inner Mongolian. The accuracy rates of the internal and external OPLS-DA model verification in the five core breeding areas all reach over 94%, which is higher than that of machine learning algorithms, indicating this strategy possessed a good origin traceability ability. It is believed that this work will provide an excellent demonstration for animal-derived food nutrition pattern certification.
