Reviewing Pafolacianine’s efficacy and safety in diagnosing ovarian and lung cancer, highlighting its potential benefits.
Pafolacianine (PFN) is an imaging agent for the diagnosis of ovarian and lung cancer in the human body. PFN binds specifically to folate receptor alpha (FRα), a membrane-bound glycoprotein receptor, upregulated more in the ovarian and lung cancer cells. It has shown rapid onset of action with better efficacy and safety profile while diagnosing ovarian and lung cancer cells. In view of these facts, the complete profile of PFN is reviewed to understand its advantages and limitations while using PFN therapeutically for the diagnosis of patients with ovarian and lung cancer.
