This article presents a model promoting operational sustainability and accessibility in research publishing, suggesting new revenue strategies.
This article presents the financial architecture of an integrated research ecosystem designed to operate according to a non-profit yet operationally self-sustaining model. The proposed framework combines moderate publication fees, an extensive waiver policy, premium auxiliary services, and full reinvestment of revenues into infrastructural development. Particular attention is devoted to maintaining accessibility for researchers lacking institutional funding while simultaneously ensuring long-term technical viability. The paper outlines the projected revenue structure for the period 2026-2028, the principal expenditure categories, and mechanisms intended to minimise reputational and operational risks commonly associated with commercial academic publishing. It is argued that the proposed model offers a financially sustainable alternative to both predatory publication systems and excessively centralised corporate publishing structures.
