Comment evaluates surgical recurrence indicators after excision of localized tenosynovial giant cell tumors, suggesting clinical utility for patient counseling.
We read with interest the study by Hurst et al1 evaluating recurrence indicators after excision of localized tenosynovial giant cell tumors of the hand. The long follow-up, histological confirmation, and consistent treatment by fellowship-trained hand surgeons make the recurrence estimate clinically useful, especially for counseling patients with bone or neurovascular bundle involvement.
