Action research explores developing exhibition-based early childhood programs in museum-school cooperation, suggesting new collaborative frameworks.
This study employs action research to explore approaches for developing an exhibition-based early childhood program in museum-school cooperation. Within one action cycle, the research comprehensively designed a course consisting of educational objectives based on policy, theory, and practice; educational content integrating the exhibition's content and philosophy, and children's cognitive characteristics; and educational processes guided by children's learning characteristics and the principle of problem-based and play-based learning. Relevant data were then collected and analyzed through the implementation of the course. The study proposes evolving from single-course co-creation to comprehensive resource co-creation by establishing a system with the exhibition as the theme, the course as the core, and a variety of derived educational products - a framework that actively promotes tripartite collaboration among museums, schools, and families. Key focus areas for future research and practice are also identified.
