Preliminary results reveal polarization observables in γN → Nπ0η production with neutron targets, suggesting new insights into baryon resonances.
Light baryon spectroscopy aims to map the full spectrum of baryon resonances. While most existing data has been obtained from measurements with proton targets, measurements with neutron targets are essential, as some resonances may couple more strongly to the neutron. In order to disentangle the overlapping spectrum of baryon resonances, partial-wave analyses are performed, which rely on the measurement of polarization observables. At the CBELSA/TAPS experiment in Bonn, different types of beam and target polarizations are available, which facilitate the production of a variety of these polarization observables. As the polarizable target neutron is bound within otherwise unpolarizable deuterated butanol, dedicated techniques are required to account for background and Fermi motion. In this proceeding, preliminary results for the polarization observables P x and P y in the γN → Nπ 0 η production are presented.
