Demonstrates improved resource allocation efficiency in military manufacturing, suggesting enhanced operational capabilities.
Modern procurement management relies heavily on efficient resource allocation, crucial to maximising military, healthcare, and industrial performance. The practical utility of traditional queueing models is limited because they frequently overlook the dynamic retrial behaviours of blocked agents. To overcome these constraints, this paper presents the Extended Erlang-B (EEB) model, which incorporates a retrial dispatching mechanism. A new iterative approach was implemented to validate the EEB, and after 22 rounds, it converged to a steady-state traffic intensity of 15.8 Erlangs. Retrial techniques have been demonstrated to boost the utilisation of resources by 60% in practical situations. Dimensioning tables provide actionable insights for designing scalable systems for different retrial probabilities. The EEB model is pivotal for modern industrial and military applications, offering superior flexibility, accuracy, and robustness in resource allocation. Compared to traditional models, it effectively addresses dynamic operational demands across diverse domains, enhancing system performance and adaptability.
