Observational follow-up study evaluates predictors of side branch occlusion in coronary bifurcation lesions, indicating added risk factors.
This was an observational follow-up study that assessed the incremental value of other lesion characteristics to the RESOLVE (Risk prEdiction of Side branch OccLusion in coronary bifurcation interVEntion)-score for predicting side branch occlusion (SBO) among patients with coronary bifurcation lesions (BLs) planned for provisional stenting strategy. Our results showed that true BLs, longer side branch lesion length, high thrombus burden, and severe calcification had incremental value on top of the RESOLVE-score for discriminating SBO.SBO was significantly associated with higher in-hospital and 6-month major adverse cardiovascular events.
