Monitored groundwork reveals no archaeological features in the investigated plots, indicating prior landscaping disturbance.
The monitored groundwork comprised of the mechanical removal of topsoil over the proposed locations of four residential housing plots followed by an initial reduced level dig. The southern plot had clearly been landscaped during recent times where the natural sloping ground was heavily truncated to create a level surface and had removed the former original land surface level and along with, any archaeological features, had these been previously present. Within the northern plot, where the original level of natural deposits survived, no archaeological features where detected. No archaeological features or finds were detected during the investigation.
