Demonstrates improved efficiency and stability of high voltage power supply for dielectric barrier discharge loads, indicating better performance.
To address resonant detuning and frequency instability caused by time varying equivalent parameters of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) loads, this paper proposes a series resonant high voltage power supply topology with adaptive switch‐controlled capacitor (SCC) tuning. By integrating an SCC unit and a phase difference feedback control loop, the system dynamically adjusts its equivalent capacitance to lock the resonant frequency at a fixed operating value. The relationship of conduction angle and capacitance is derived, and zero‐voltage switching (ZVS) conditions are analyzed. Key parameters are optimized using fundamental harmonic analysis to ensure high voltage gain. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by both simulations and experimental measurements on a DBD ozone generator load. The system achieves rapid startup and stable steady state operation at different frequencies (60–80 kHz). The output voltage reaches 10.4 kV (peak‐to‐peak) at 80 kHz, and the measured efficiency remains above 90% across the full frequency range. The proposed power supply fundamentally overcomes detuning issues caused by load variations, significantly improving frequency stability, efficiency, and load adaptability.
