Simulation-based education (SBE) has emerged as an indispensable pedagogical framework within nursing education, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical instruction and real-world clinical application. In the state of Karnataka, India, prominent health science centers and nursing institutions have increasingly adopted skill laboratory simulations to cultivate technical and non-technical proficiencies among undergraduate student nurses. This short review evaluates the impact of simulation-based training modalities ranging from low-fidelity task trainers to high-fidelity electrocardiogram (ECG) and patient simulators on clinical skills, confidence, and interprofessional dynamics. The syntheses of localized regional data underscore a profound post-simulation increase in student performance scores, procedural satisfaction, and critical incident management (such as Code Blue protocols). However, systemic challenges concerning resource distribution, cost, and standardized faculty development persist. Integrating immersive simulation frameworks like Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice (RCDP) and TeamSTEPPS within Indian nursing curricula holds a promising outlook for shaping a safer, highly collaborative healthcare workforce.
