Analyzes cultural context rupture and emotional issues in a film, suggesting improvements for animated films' cultural expressions.
This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the problems of cultural context rupture and the lack of emotional and cultural identity in Big Fish & Begonia, with a view to providing useful references for the creation of domestic animated films. Through a detailed textual analysis of the film combined with relevant theories, the study finds that although Big Fish & Begonia is rich in traditional cultural elements, these elements mostly stay on the surface and are not organically integrated with the story, resulting in cultural context rupture. Meanwhile, problems exist in aspects such as character image shaping, plot setting and emotional expression, making it difficult for the audience to resonate emotionally, which in turn affects cultural identity. Based on this, the creation of domestic animated films should balance tradition and modernity, focus on emotional and cultural expression, and enhance the ability of cultural context construction, so as to create excellent works with more cultural heritage and emotional resonance, and promote the development of domestic animated films in inheriting traditional culture and seeking cultural identity.
