Randomized trial examines PTTL characteristics in BeO, indicating significant charge trap involvement.
Phototransferred thermoluminescence (PTTL) from Thermalox 995 type BeO using 470 and 525 nm illumination is reported. The conventional-TL glow curve has four peaks, I-IV, near 60, 250, 380 and 550 o C when measured at 1 o C s -1 . PTTL appears at peak II when the sample is preheated to remove peaks I and II and illuminated. When the sample is preheated to remove the first three peaks, PTTL appears at peaks II and III dependent on the duration of illumination by 470 or 525 nm light. Peak I is not reproduced under phototransfer for any preheating. PTTL time-response profiles are presented.
