Abstract

変形性膝関節症（knee osteoarthritis：膝OA）は関節軟骨だけでなく，膝関節全体に変性を来す代表的な関節疾患であり，高齢化社会を迎えた我が国において，膝OAに対する保存的加療，特にリハビリテーション診療の果たす役割は大きい．ほとんどの膝OAは変形性腰椎症，変形性股関節症を代表とする他の整形外科疾患や，メタボリックシンドローム，骨粗鬆症などの全身疾患と合併し，相互に関連しているため，実際に訓練を行う場面においては全身的な評価を多職種で連携して行い，生活習慣も含めた全体像を把握し，リハビリテーション治療として効果的にかつ具体的に治療していくことが求められている．
