Review evaluates physical drivers of Indian monsoon and their economic impacts, underscoring climate change implications.
A significant climatic phenomenon, the Indian monsoon system has a large impact on India's socioeconomic structure. Large-scale climate drivers and region processes control the fluctuation, intensity, and duration of monsoon rains, and changing patterns linked to human-driven climate change are altering environmental and economic impacts. With an emphasis on agricultural production, water supplies, inflation, and national growth, this article examines the macroeconomic ramifications of the present knowledge of the physical processes governing monsoon dynamics. Ocean-atmosphere connection, atmospheric circulation patterns, land-surface feedbacks, and thermodynamic reactions are some of the multistage physical forces that control the monsoon's variability. Extreme events, intrapersonal variability, and rainfall patterns have all changed as a result of changes in these physical causes in a warming climate.
