Case report presents bilateral macular coloboma with a dragged optic disc in a young female, indicating unique ocular conditions.
Macular colobomas are atypical and rare variants of congenital ocular anomalies; further, dragging of the optic disc is extremely rare. Here, presenting a case report on the rare duo of bilateral macular coloboma with unilateral right-sided dragged optic disc in a 15-year-old female patient. She presented with complaints of decreased vision in both eyes along with outward deviation of the right eye since childhood. No relevant history was present. Upon detailed examination, the right eye had 15° exotropia, and the anterior segment was unremarkable. Fundus showed bilateral macular coloboma larger in OD than OS, with the unilateral dragged disc in the right eye which was confirmed with optical coherence tomography. This unusual case report will highlight clinical features, diagnostic evaluation, differentials, and complications of macular coloboma for appropriate diagnosis and management.
