This study verifies the effectiveness of a formfinding analysis method for bending-active latticed kagome shells (ASE&BSE method) using a general-purpose finite element code through model experiments with aluminum. To capture the geometry, 3D scanning and a 3D non-contact measurement system were employed. A novel method was developed to identify member axes from the acquired data. The deviation of the measured geometry of the model from the formfinding analysis results was slightly large in-plane, but sufficiently small in the out-of-plane direction, and it is considered that the formfinding analysis method has a reasonable degree of accuracy.
