HRMARS - The adoption of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is critical for both enhancing the efficiency and strategic capabilities of human resource management in educational institutions. This study examines the implementation status and impact effects of HRIS in selected public universities in Hebei Province, China. A mixed-methods research approach was adopted, integrating quantitative data from surveys of human resource professionals with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews with administrative staff. Results indicate that HRIS adoption substantially enhances HR performance and productivity within the participating academic departments. This study offers a valuable, context-specific HRIS adoption model designed for Chinese higher education, thereby addressing a notable gap in the existing literature. By focusing specifically on the determinants and outcomes of successful HRIS implementation within this sector, the research provides practical guidance for universities aiming to optimize HR operations and improve organizational efficiency. This research pioneers a comprehensive assessment of these factors and their relationship to HRIS utilization within the context of Chinese public universities, making it a significant contribution to the field.
