Does AI-enabled automated CT assessment of the iliofemoral vasculature predict vascular complications in patients undergoing transfemoral TAVR?
AI-enabled automated CT analysis is being evaluated as a potentially faster and more consistent alternative to manual evaluation for predicting vascular complications prior to TAVR.
Computed tomography (CT) remains the gold standard for iliofemoral vascular assessment during pre-procedural planning of transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). However, manual human evaluation is time-consuming and prone to interobserver variability, limitations that may be mitigated by artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled automated analysis. We sought to externally validate the first commercial AI-enabled software for automated TAVR CT assessment of the iliofemoral vasculature and its ability to predict vascular complications.
