Low AR10-AUC30 levels measured by the Total Thrombus-Formation Analysis System were significantly associated with a higher risk of 1-year bleeding events in patients with coronary artery disease compared to high levels (HR 4.87).
Why the study?
Assessing bleeding risk in patients with CAD is clinically important, and the utility of T-TAS parameters in predicting bleeding events had not been assessed.
Does low AR10-AUC30 measured by T-TAS predict 1-year bleeding events in patients with coronary artery disease?
Cohort (n=561)
No
Does low AR10-AUC30 measured by T-TAS predict 1-year bleeding events in patients with coronary artery disease?
Hazard Ratio: 4.87 (95% CI 1.05–22.53)
p-value: p=0.007
Low AR10-AUC30 levels measured by the T-TAS system can predict 1-year bleeding events in patients with coronary artery disease on antithrombotic therapy.
T-TAS parameters may stratify bleeding risk in CAD; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective validation before clinical use.
AIMS: The assessment of bleeding risk in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) is clinically important. We recently developed the Total Thrombus-Formation Analysis System (T-TAS) for the quantitative analysis of thrombus formation using microchips with thrombogenic surfaces. Here, we assessed the utility of T-TAS parameters in predicting 1-year bleeding events in patients with CAD. METHODS: (low: ≤ 1603, intermediate, and high: >1765, n=187 each). One-year bleeding events were defined by the Platelet Inhibition and Patient Outcomes criteria. RESULTS: group (p=0.007). CONCLUSIONS: levels in the prediction of 1-year bleeding events in patients with CAD treated with various antithrombotic therapies.

Mitsuse et al. (2019) conducted a cohort in Coronary artery disease (n=561). Low AR10-AUC30 levels (≤ 1603) vs. High AR10-AUC30 levels (> 1765) was evaluated on 1-year bleeding events (PLATO criteria) (HR 4.87, 95% CI 1.05-22.53, p=0.007). Low AR10-AUC30 levels measured by the Total Thrombus-Formation Analysis System were significantly associated with a higher risk of 1-year bleeding events in patients with coronary artery disease compared to high levels (HR 4.87).
