Review summarizes advances in photocatalytic C–P bond formation reactions, highlighting synthetic applications and mechanistic insights.
Photoredox catalysis has emerged as a versatile and sustainable platform for phosphorylation reactions, enabling the generation of highly reactive radical intermediates under mild conditions. These strategies have significantly expanded the synthetic toolbox for carbon–phosphorus (C–P) bond formation, providing efficient access to structurally diverse phosphorylated compounds with high selectivity and broad functional-group tolerance. This review summarizes recent advances in photocatalytic phosphorylation reactions, organized according to carbon-centered and phosphorus-centered radical pathways. Mechanistic insights, substrate scope, synthetic applications, and future opportunities in this rapidly evolving field are also discussed.
