The article presents the principles underlying project-based learning in the higher education system. The strength features of the technology are analyzed in the article with regard to develop the young specialists’ soft skills in the digital age. The article contains sample classroom activities modelled according the guidelines of project-based learning in the framework of learning English as a second language in a non-linguistic university.
