Genome assembly reveals structural details in the fungus gnat, indicating biodiversity within ecosystems.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns5:italic>Macrocera phalerata</ns5:italic> (fungus gnat; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Keroplatidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 572.81 megabases. Most of the assembly (97.46%) is scaffolded into 5 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.98 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
