Review highlights triazolopyrimidines' diverse biological activities and structural versatility, suggesting innovation in pharmaceuticals.
Heterocyclic compounds constitute an important class of organic molecules with wide-ranging applications in medicinal, agricultural, and materials chemistry. Among these, triazolopyrimidines (TPs), formed by the fusion of triazole and pyrimidine rings, have emerged as promising next-generation therapeutic agents. This review highlights significant research advancements from 2020 onwards, emphasizing their unique structural frameworks, versatile reactivity at multiple ring positions, and extensive biological activities. Triazolopyrimidine derivatives exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities, including anticancer, antimicrobial, antiviral, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, and antidiabetic effects. Overall, TPs are valuable scaffolds driving innovation in pharmaceutical applications.
