Randomized trial analyzes vibration characteristics in electric vehicle motors, suggesting a faster EM calculation approach.
The interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is the most significant source of vibration and noise in electric vehicles (EV). However, traditional vibration calculation methods based on finite element analysis (FEA) are too time-consuming. Therefore, this paper proposes a analytical electromagnetic (EM) vibration calculation model based on 3D equivalent magnetic network (EMN) and equivalent structural network (ESN) for IPMSM. First, an 3D-EMN that accounts for the influence of the v-type skewing rotor and notched area was established. The time-space characteristics of exciting air-gap EM force density sources in machines are investigated in detail. Based on the Donnell–Mushtari thin shell theory, an multi-layer ESN model is established for analyzing the mechanical characteristics of the stator system. Subsequently, a fast calculation model for EM vibration has been established. Finally, the hybrid model has been validated through FEA and experimental tests. The results show that the error of the proposed model at the 12th EM vibration is 4.8% (at 6000 rpm), while the errors at the other orders are relatively small. Moreover, the proposed hybrid model can save approximately 89.5% of the computation time.
