Demonstrates optimized frequency regulation in thermal power and energy storage joint systems, indicating improved grid performance.
Regarding the problems of response delay and low climbing rate when thermal power units respond to automatic generation control (AGC) commands, a flexible frequency regulation control method for a thermal power-energy storage joint system considering the uncertainty of electric vehicle responsiveness is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the uncertain mapping relationship between the objective response ability of electric vehicles and the subjective psychological willingness of the electric vehicle users, a user responsiveness model is established based on the theories of Sigmoid and linear cloud models. Taking the maximum comprehensive income, the optimal frequency regulation effect, and the maximum energy storage balance of the joint system as the objective functions, an optimization control model for the joint system based on multiobjective optimization is established. The improved nondominated sorting genetic algorithm III is used to solve the model. The effectiveness and correctness of the model are verified through actual operating data of a thermal power plant in Northern China. The simulation results show that the strategy proposed in this paper can significantly improve the frequency regulation revenue, fully utilize the frequency regulation potential of multiple types of adjustable resources, and improve the AGC frequency regulation capability of the power grid.
