Demonstrates efficient alkynylation of hydrogermanes, suggesting a valuable synthetic method.
We report an operationally simple and highly efficient protocol for the visible light induced photocatalytic synthesis of alkynyl germanes from coupling between sulfonyl alkynes and hydrogermanes. This study highlights the use of simple sulfonamides as hydrogen atom catalyst and readily available 4CzIPN as photocatalyst for the activation of Ge-H bonds of hydrogermanes. This transition metal free protocol demonstrates broader substrate scope and suitable for the late-stage functionalization.
