Lei Chen Speaks Out on Research, AI, and Building a New University

Welcome, everyone. This is our next edition of the ACM SIGMOD Record's series of interviews with distinguished members of the database community. Today I'm delighted to have with us Lei Chen, who is the Chaired Professor in Data Science and Analytics at HKUST Guangzhou, and at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at HKUST, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a fellow of the ACM and of the IEEE, and he currently serves as the Dean of the Information Hub and Director of the Big Data Institute at HKUST Guangzhou. I am H.V.
