Scoping review identifies GenAI usage in instructional design stages for health sciences education, suggesting educational improvement opportunities.
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) are rapidly reshaping health sciences education. However, the systematic integration of these technologies into established instructional design frameworks remains fragmented. This scoping review aims to systematically map the current literature on how GenAI tools are utilized across the stages of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model in nursing, medical, and allied health education. Following the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology for scoping reviews and the PRISMA-ScR guidelines, this review will search PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, CINAHL, and ERIC for peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2026. Data will be extracted using a structured matrix categorizing GenAI tools, educational contexts, ADDIE stages, and evaluation levels. Findings will provide an evidence-based roadmap for educators and identify key methodological gaps in AI-enhanced instructional design.
