Key Points

The aim is to determine the optimal planting date for groundnut in the savannah agroecology and assess its impact on yield and agronomic traits.
Split-plot arrangement in a randomized complete block design with three replicates.
Two local groundnut varieties planted over four planting dates at two seasonal periods.
Measurements included plant height, leaflets per plant, pods per plot, and pod yield (Kg/ha).
Yield was significantly affected by the planting season (P<0.05).
Statistical analysis revealed optimal planting dates of 8th May and 22nd May for the first season.
For the second season, optimal planting dates were from 28th August to 11th September under rainfed conditions.

We only have this paper's title and publication details.

Assesses yield effects of planting dates on groundnut in savannah agroecology, suggesting optimal timings.
