Analyzes heat and mass transfer in an MHD flow with heat sink effects, suggesting practical applications.
In this study, the main goal is to analyze the coupled effects of heat sink, Soret effect, and viscous dissipation on the steady mixed convection flow of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate aligned along the ‐axis in a porous medium within the framework of magnetohydrodynamics, with a uniform magnetic field applied normal to the plate along the ‐axis. The novelty of this study lies in investigating the combined effects of thermal radiation, heat sink, viscous dissipation, chemical reaction, and Soret effect on heat and mass transfer in an MHD flow model involving a vertical porous plate embedded in a porous medium, which are often considered separately in previous studies. The nonlinear equations are converted into dimensionless form and solved analytically using the regular perturbation method. The impact of various physical parameters, such as the Hartmann number, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, Eckert number, chemical reaction parameter, heat sink parameter, and Soret number on the fluid velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions, as well as skin‐friction, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number, are investigated in detail and presented graphically. The study shows that the fluid velocity increases with increasing Soret number, thermal Grashof number, and solutal Grashof number, whereas it decreases with increasing heat sink parameter, chemical reaction parameter, and Hartmann number.
