Synthesis reveals antimicrobial and antiradical properties of N-benzoylmethylamides in various pathogens, suggesting potential uses in treatments.
The synthesis of N-benzoylmethylamides of N-substituted α,β-dehydroamino acids and the corresponding 4H-imidazol-4-ones was carried out; their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiradical properties were studied. It was shown that among them, the compounds containing a nitro group in the meta- or para-position of the benzene ring of the arylidene residue exhibited the highest activity against E. coli, St. aureus, and Candida albicans.
