Bibliometric analysis reveals a shift in GHRM research towards sustainability-oriented practices and domains.
Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) has emerged as a critical mechanism through which organizations address environmental challenges and advance sustainability objectives. Despite the rapid growth of GHRM scholarship, the field remains theoretically fragmented, with prior reviews largely focusing on descriptive trend analyses and limited integration of its intellectual evolution. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric and thematic assessment of GHRM research based on 486 Scopus‐indexed publications published between 2014 and 2025. The findings reveal three distinct developmental stages: formative, developing, and growth, highlighting the field's progression from foundational conceptualization to a broader sustainability‐oriented agenda. Thematic analysis demonstrates a notable shift from environmentally focused HR practices toward more sophisticated domains encompassing green innovation, green intellectual capital, sustainable leadership, and organizational environmental performance. Furthermore, the study uncovers emerging yet underexplored research trajectories that offer significant opportunities for theoretical advancement and empirical inquiry. By mapping the intellectual, social, and thematic structure of the field, this review contributes a consolidated understanding of GHRM's evolution and provides a strategic roadmap for future research aimed at strengthening theoretical integration and enhancing sustainability outcomes.
