Proposes a new intelligence category integrating human autonomy and AI capabilities, suggesting profound implications for governance.
Short Abstract This paper formally proposes Co-Intelligence as a new category of intelligence arising from the structural integration of full human autonomy and non-autonomous, superintelligent AI capabilities. While AI-only superintelligence entails uncontrollable risks due to autonomy, human-only intelligence faces inherent biological and cognitive limits in increasingly complex societies. Co-Intelligence resolves this dual impasse by fixing intention, values, ethics, and final responsibility entirely on the human side, while assigning AI the roles of high-speed reasoning, structural organization, and large-scale interdisciplinary integration. The paper introduces a dual-core, dual-loop reasoning architecture that enables superintelligent performance without autonomy-based risk. Beyond a technical aid, Co-Intelligence is presented as a generalized and scalable intelligence architecture applicable to individuals, organizations, and societies, with profound implications for future knowledge production, governance, and civilizational evolution.
