The application of electromechanical resonance methods is shown for investigations of linear and nonlinear elastic, dielectric and electromechanical properties of crystals in the vicinity of structural phase transitions. A comparison of the theoretical temperature behavior of linear and nonlinear coefficients, calculated by a thermodynamic model provides helpful information for the study of phase transitions. Theoretical and experimental results are given for gadolinium molybdate and rochelle salt.
