We study vortex dynamics in a ring-shaped Josephson-junction array with emphasis on the interaction of the vortex with spinwaves. An offset charge Q x induces a persistent voltage which depends on the ratio of the charging to the Josephson coupling energy as well as on the ratio of the phase coherence length L φ for a vortex to the system size. We determine the temperature dependence of L φ and find an observable persistent voltage at low temperatures.
