Two decades of discussion have resulted in a consensus regarding the need to internationalize business schools in the United States. However. there has been less agreement regarding particular strategies to accomplish the goal of internationalization. This paper outlines important strategies for internationalization which are appropriate to the schools' mission. In addition, this paper describes, through examples and discussion, the federally funded Centers for International Business Education and Research which are envisioned as a national resource for internationalizing U.S. business schools and promoting the teaching and research in the field of international business.
