Why the study?
Angiosarcomas of the aorta are extremely rare tumors, with only a handful of cases associated with endovascular grafts and none previously reported with an Endurant stent graft.
This case report highlights a rare potential association between the Endurant stent graft and the development of primary aortic angiosarcoma.
May prompt vigilance for angiosarcoma in post-EVAR surveillance; extends sparse graft-malignancy reports but leaves causality open.
Introduction: Angiosarcomas are extremely rare tumors, especially those arising in the aorta. Case Report: We uniquely present a case where primary aortic angiosarcoma was found in a 68-year-old woman in association with an Endurant stent graft. Conclusion: Only a handful of cases have shown an association between the development of primary angiosarcoma and other endovascular grafts, such as a Dacron stent graft. However, this may be the first case to report an association with an endurant stent graft.
