A surface-functionalized liposome with a high C 70 concentration (LMIC 70 ) was synthesized by exchange reaction from an unstable fullerene complex, C 70 ·γ-CDx. The DNA photocleavage ability of LMIC 70 is extremely higher than that of LMIC 60 or C 60 ·γ-CDx.
