The energy transfer rate from longitudinal oscillations into electromagnetic energy due to non-linear effects in a collisionless, homogeneous, isotropic plasma is calculated. It is found that the radiation is peaked around 2ω p and the energy transfer for systems having either a thermal or a mild two-stream instability `equilibrium' spectrum of longitudinal oscillations is estimated.
