Intervention

Transapical mitral paravalvular leak closure using an AVP 3 6 × 3 mm device, with apical access closure using an AMPLATZER Vascular Plug II 18 mm.

Outcome

Successful closure of the paravalvular leak and apical access.

This case demonstrates the feasibility of transapical mitral paravalvular leak closure and reports the first successful percutaneous apical closure of a large bore (14 F) sheath using a vascular plug device.
