Why the study?
Beta-blockers have established benefits in heart failure, but concerns or perceived contraindications often limit their use in clinical scenarios such as decompensated heart failure, tachyarrhythmia-induced hypotension, bronchial disease with bronchospasm risk, or brady-tachycardia syndrome.
Beta blockers remain a cornerstone of heart failure therapy and can be safely initiated even in patients with relative contraindications by using careful titration or ultra-short-acting intravenous agents.
May support beta blocker use in chronic HF; leaves open optimal role in acute settings.
