Left atrial cryoablation using cryoenergy (SurgiFrost) as a concomitant surgical procedure, consisting of epicardial or endocavital linear lesions including a circular lesion around pulmonary veins and resection of the left atrial appendage.

Presence of sinus rhythm and atrial transport function (assessed by echocardiography) during postoperative follow-upsurrogate

Concomitant surgical cryoablation of atrial fibrillation during cardiac surgery effectively restores sinus rhythm and atrial transport function, particularly in patients with preoperative paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation.
