Oscillator strengths for allowed transitions involving the total symmetries 3 P, 2 S o , 3 D o , 5 S o , 5 P, 5 D o , 1 D and 1 D o are calculated for atomic oxygen. The calculations are performed using both the R-matrix method and the method of configuration interaction. Comparison is made with previous theoretical results and with experiment and, where possible, recommendations are made with regard to accuracy.
