In this article we study a one-dimensional problem of the Chandrasekharaiah-Tzou thermoelastic theory. In this theory two delay parameters θ and q are considered. We prove that when τθ > {{τ_q} 2} the solutions decay exponentially and when τθ {{τ_q} 2} holds.
