BNP's renal effects occur without hemodynamic shifts; extends mechanistic data to humans and guides future cardiorenal trials.
Does continuous infusion of human brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) alter renal hemodynamics, tubular function, and vasoactive hormones in healthy men?
In healthy men, BNP infusion induces dose-dependent diuresis and natriuresis primarily via distal nephron effects, increases GFR, and inhibits renin secretion without altering systemic hemodynamics.
