Recent topics of ceramic actuators how to develop new ceramic devices

Electromechanical solid state devices are currently being actively investigated. Very recently, three new types of ceramic actuators have been under development: 1) digital displacement transducers or shape-memory ceramics, 2) monomorph actuators, and 3) photostrictive devices. These devices are reviewed with particular emphasis on the initial processes of the discovery.
