The efficiency of columnar and agitation purification procedures was evaluated for latex suspensions. The columnar technique gave purity levels nearly equal to 1 × 10 -5 M of ion concentration, while the agitation method showed a purity level of only 10 -4 M. Purity of 10 -6 M was reached by combining the columnar method with dialysis in an inert atmosphere. A recommended purification procedure is presented.
